Little Rock woman's death called a homicide

The death of a woman found Sunday afternoon by her mother inside a Little Rock home is being investigated as a homicide, police said.

Officers were called shortly before 2 p.m. to a residence in the 6900 block of West 34th Street regarding a body, according to a news release from the Little Rock Police Department.

At the home, police spoke with the mother of 34-year-old Katrina Hampton of Little Rock. She found her daughter dead on the floor and called authorities, the release states.

Katrina Hampton's exact cause of death has not been determined, and her killing is considered suspicious.

Her body was sent to the state medical examiner's office, where officials classified the death as a homicide.
