Little Rock house shot at while couple, 4 children inside, police say; resident returns fire

Little Rock police are investigating after a home was shot at while two adults and four children were inside early Monday, according to a report.

Officers were called to a home in the 3800 block of West 23rd Street shortly before 3 a.m. and observed bullet holes in multiple windows.

A 26-year-old resident said he heard shots and returned fire, then saw the two shooters run south on Brown Street. Four children, ages 3 to 7, were in the home at the time, the report states. A neighbor's house on Brown Street was also hit, police said.

The man told officers that he had an altercation at Asher One Stop, 2608 S. Maple St., on Sunday evening with someone he believes was one of the shooters.

A 24-year-old who also lives in the house said she feels the shooting was gang-related because she was told Asher One Stop is a "blood gang store," referring to the Bloods street gang, and that her family is not welcome there.

Investigators noted that the 26-year-old's vehicle is blue, the color traditionally associated with the rival Crips street gang, and that the woman has blue hair.

The suspects were not named in the report, but one was said to drive a gray four-door SUV.

No injuries were reported, and no arrests were made at the time of the report.
