Police: Robber with large knife holds up Little Rock discount store

A Little Rock discount store was robbed by a man with a large knife Tuesday morning, police said.

Officers were called to Dollar General, 7710 Colonel Glenn Road, about 9 a.m., according to a report. An employee told police that the robber came in, brandished the knife and demanded money.

The cashier said he gave the assailant an unspecified amount of cash from the register before the man fled on foot.

Police have named no suspects, and no arrests had been made at the time of the report.

It's the second holdup reported at a Little Rock location of the discount-store chain in which the assailant used a large knife in less than a week. Little Rock police spokesman Michael Ford said the department believes the two may be related.

The Dollar General at 3500 John Barrow Road location was robbed at 9 a.m. Thursday by an assailant with a 12-inch butcher knife, according to a separate police report.
