Hogs, Wolves players get combine invite

University of Arkansas, Fayetteville quarterback Austin Allen has received an invitation to participate in the NFL scouting combine next month in Indianapolis.

The event will take place Feb. 27 through March 5 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. Official invitations to the combine will not be extended until early February.

Allen completed 6 of 9 passes for 75 yards while playing for the winning National team in the NFL Players Association Bowl on Jan. 20. Arkansas running back David Williams rushed for 28 yards on six carries in the game.

Frank Ragnow, rated the No. 1 center for the NFL Draft by CBSSports.com and the No. 32-rated player overall, is also expected to receive an invitation to the combine.

Former Arkansas State University defensive end Ja'Von Rolland-Jones also received an invitation to participate in the combine, the university announced Tuesday.

The two-time Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year will be the first ASU player to attend since defensive lineman Ryan Carrethers in 2014. He was later picked by the San Diego Chargers in the fifth round of the NFL Draft.

Rolland-Jones completed his college career as both the school and Sun Belt's all-time leader in sacks with 43½, which set him as the second all-time leader in FBS history -- only a half sack shy of Terrell Suggs' 44 career sacks from 2000-2002 at Arizona State.
