Wildwood recital
Canadian tenor Neal Banerjee and pianist Adam Savacool will give a recital at 7:30 p.m. today in the Lucy Lockett Cabe Festival Theatre, Wildwood Park for the Arts, 20919 Denny Road, Little Rock. It's part of the Wildwood Academy of Music & the Arts 2018 Summer Music Festival.
Banerjee will sing German opera arias and lieder and art songs by Franz Schubert, Felix Mendelssohn and Richard Strauss; the WAMA Festival Chorus will join him for several choral selections. River pearls
Freshwater shell and pearl fishing along the Mississippi River and its tributaries in the Arkansas Delta region -- mussel shells were used to make pearl buttons during the 19th century -- will be the subject of a talk by Richard Spilman, education coordinator of the Delta Cultural Center, noon-1 p.m. today at the center's Miller Annex, 223 Cherry St., Helena-West Helena.
