Cantrell Gallery welcomes recent paintings by Little Rock artist Megan Lewis with the opening of "The Value of Light." The Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre is offering a "sensory friendly" performance of its hourlong, family-friendly touring adaptation of William Shakespeare' Much Ado About Nothing, 2 p.m. today in Reynolds Performance Hall, University of Central Arkansas, 201 Donaghey Ave., Conway. In conjunction with the UCA Occupational Therapy department, the performance is geared toward people with "sensory processing deficits, including (but not limited to) those on the autism disorder spectrum and their families," according to a news release. Audience members can take snacks, fidget toys, beverages with a sealed lid, service animals and other calming items and can come and go during the performance. The first 1,500 children age 3-11 attending can learn the ways of a true Jedi and receive a free foam light saber. Visitors to Mountain View can listen, learn and participate in old-style music during the annual Shapenote Singing Gathering, today-Saturday at the Ozark Folk Center's White Oak Theater.
