Brothers accused in string of armed robberies at Arkansas hotels

Two brothers were arrested Sunday after a string of hotel robberies in Pine Bluff, authorities said.

The report states that officers first responded at 3:15 a.m. to the Motel 6 at 3103 Market St. A second holdup was reported a short time later at the Quality Inn at 2908 Pines Mall Drive.

Dionte Gurley, 24, and Howard Gurley, 21, tried to rob a third hotel, the Hampton Inn at 511 Mallard Loop, but could not get in, according to police.

The report does not specify what was stolen but states a rifle was used in each robbery.

Authorities said they found the men fleeing south toward Interstate 530 in a black Toyota 4 Runner and conducted a traffic stop.

The two were arrested on charges of aggravated robbery and taken to the Jefferson County jail. They did not appear on an online inmate roster as of Friday afternoon.
