Authorities: Arkansas man seriously hurt after motorcycle hits deer in out-of-state wreck

A north Arkansas man was seriously hurt after his motorcycle hit a deer out-of-state Friday morning, authorities said.

The single-vehicle wreck happened around 7:30 a.m. on Missouri 17 about eight miles south of West Plains, Mo., according to a preliminary report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Police say a 2016 Harley Davidson driven by Brendan Clements, 40, of Salem hit a deer and traveled off the highway before overturning.

Clements was transported by helicopter to Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Mo., the report states. His condition was not clear as of Saturday afternoon.
