Arkansas motorcyclist hurt in out-of-state crash with deer

An Arkansas man was seriously hurt when his motorcycle hit a deer Friday morning in Missouri, authorities said.

The single-vehicle wreck happened about 7:30 a.m. on Missouri 17 about 8 miles south of West Plains, according to a preliminary report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

A 2016 Harley-Davidson driven by Brendan Clements, 40, of Salem hit a deer and traveled off the highway before overturning, authorities said.

Clements was taken by helicopter to Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Mo., the report said. His condition was not clear as of Saturday afternoon.
