Police say a Hot Springs man is accused of assaulting his 76-year-old grandmother after she woke him up, the Hot Springs Sentinel-Record reported.
Justin Edward Terry, 29, was arrested Friday and charged with second-degree domestic battery.
According to a probable cause affidavit, the grandmother was attempting to wake Terry so he could go to work, but he arose, placed his hands around her neck and lifted her off the floor.
Authorities said she reported they then walked down the hall toward the kitchen, where he punched her on top of the head.
Terry later told investigators he grabbed the victim around the neck and struck her on the head, according to the affidavit.
He remained in the Garland County jail on Tuesday with bail set at $3,000.
