Admission to the Little Rock Zoo on Saturday will cost only $1 per person, a steep discount from the normal entry fee of about $13 for adults and about $10 for youths.

The lowered price is part of the Hiland Dairy Dollar Day, an annual promotion that also features $1 products for sale from the Little Rock-based company.

Zoo Director Susan Altrui called Hiland a "longtime partner and cheerleader of the Zoo."

A statement noted the company this year donated $22,250 for upgrades at the zoo and will also give it free products and advertising on some milk cartons it produces.

The zoo will open at 9 a.m. Saturday and close to new admissions at 5 p.m. The park will close completely at 5:30 p.m.
