'Going to kill you,' reported as threat in North Little Rock

"I'm going to kill you," a North Little Rock man reportedly said Sunday before attacking his girlfriend, pointing a gun at a bystander and spraying them with bear deterrent, according to a police report.

North Little Rock officers responded to a disturbance call on North Sycamore Lane on Sunday and found Christopher John Johns, 49, who witnesses said put a gun to his girlfriend's head, pushed her on the ground, punched her several times in the face and sprayed her with a bear repellent, according to the report.

Witnesses said Johns also pointed a gun at a bystander and threatened multiple times to kill his girlfriend of 13 years.

Officers arrested Johns on charges of felony aggravated assault on a family member, felony aggravated assault, felony terroristic threatening and domestic battery.

Johns was being held in the Pulaski County jail in lieu of a $15,000 bond Tuesday evening.
