Orchids

Orchid Society of the Ozarks will meet at 1:30 p.m.July 15 at Northwest Technical Institute, 709 S. Old Missouri Road in Springdale. July is movie month. Bring blooming plants for the monthly judging. Anyone interested in growing orchids is welcome to attend. The objective of the society is to stimulate interest in orchids and their culture. Monthly raffles for members and occasional public auctions offer affordable orchids and supplies for new or experienced growers.

Ostomates

The Northwest Arkansas Ostomy Support Group will meet at 2 p.m. July 15 at Hope Cancer Resources, 5835 W. Sunset Ave. in Springdale. The group will be holding their annual potluck meeting. Bring a favorite dish to share. The educational meeting will begin at 1 p.m.

Pieces 'N Patches

Pieces 'N Patches quilt group will meet at 10 a.m. July 16 at First Presbyterian Church, 1901 S. 26th St. in Rogers.

The group will install new officers and share a potluck lunch. Cake will be provided. Club dues will be collected at the meeting to be included in the new membership book.

Next meeting will be at 12:30 p.m. Aug. 6.

The group meets at 12:30 p.m. on the first Monday of each month for programs and at 10 a.m. on the third Monday for workshops. Snacks will be served on program days, and members should bring a dish for potluck on workshop days; beverages will be provided. Visitors are welcome.

SUV

The Rogers Camp of the Sons of Union Veterans will be holding its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. July 16 at Foghorns Restaurant, 2221 W. Walnut St. in Rogers. Dinner will be at 6 p.m.

The Fort Smith Camp of the Sons of Union Veterans will be holding its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. July 19 at Western Sizzlin, 5720 Rogers Ave. in Fort Smith. Dinner will be at 6 p.m.

The Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War is a fraternal organization honoring the heritage of those who fought for the United States during the Civil War. The meeting is open to all.

Cancer

Viviendo con Cancer (Living With Cancer) is a supportive and educational group for adult Hispanic patients, caregivers, families and friends coping with any type of cancer. All group communication will be in Spanish. The group will meet from 5:30 to 7 p.m. July 16 at Hope Cancer Resources, 5835 W. Sunset Ave. in Springdale.

Stitched

Stitched With Love is a group formed for the purpose of sewing quilts, hats and pillows for children at Arkansas Children's Hospital.

The club will meet at 9:30 a.m. July 17 at Mount Vernon Presbyterian Church, 1300 N. Davis St. in Pea Ridge. Bring completed quilts and scissors, as the group will be cutting batting for new kits.

Democrats

The Northwest Arkansas Senior Democrats will meet at noon July 17 at Western Sizzlin in Springdale. The speaker will be Don Elliott, a lawyer of distinction, both locally and nationally. Elliot will address Amendment 1,which will be on the November ballot. This amendment gives the legislature the power to set policy and procedures for the courts. It also caps damages for malpractice.

GOP Women

The Benton County Republican Women's Club will meet at noon July 17 at Pleasant Grove Crossing Golden Corral in Rogers. Special guests this month will be District 90's Jana Della Rosa, District 87's Robin Lundstrum and Debra Hobbs, candidate for Justice of the Peace on the Quorum Court. Networking begins at 11:30 a.m.

The Republican Women meet the third Tuesday of each month.

Ark-Oma

Ark-Oma Square Dance Club will meet at 7:30 p.m. July 20 at Springdale Senior Center, 203 Park St., with Monty Hackler calling. This free dance will include mainstream and plus level dancing with banners being given to visiting clubs.

Mercedes-Benz

The Mercedes-Benz Car Association, Ozark Section, will host a membership event beginning at 1 p.m. July 21 at Whole Hog Cafe in Bentonville. This event is for member appreciation awards, and there will be a separate dining area reserved.

The section's members meet each month for an event. Time and location vary, depending on the nature of the event. Event categories are driving, entertainment, social, education, charitable, technical, exhibit and awards. Owning a Mercedes-Benz is not required to become a member.

BC Dems

The Benton County Dems will meet for lunch at 11 a.m. July 23 at Golden Corral, 2506 W. Pleasant Crossing Drive in Rogers. The program will begin at noon with state representative candidates Gayatri Agnew from District 93 and Jene Huffman-Gilreath from District 94 discussing state issues.

Stage IV

Hope Cancer Resources offers a support group for men and women living with any type of stage IV cancer. The group will meet from 1 to 2:30 p.m. July 27 at Hope Cancer Resources, 5835 W. Sunset Ave. in Springdale. Members must RSVP.

Cemetery

The Woods Cemetery Association will meet at 5 p.m. Aug. 14 at the Benton County Archive, 2111 W. Walnut St. in Rogers. The group will be planning another "work day" and confirming plans for the upcoming WCA reunion for the descendants of those buried in the Woods Cemetery. The last known burial was in 1917, and the reunion will be held Oct. 5-6.
