Stars, stripes, sparkles and, of course, red, white and blue were what many people wore to a family friendly Independence Day picnic -- Red, White and You -- held July 4 on Arlington Lawn in Hot Springs National Park.

Hosted by Friends of Hot Springs National Park and the National Park Service, the event included entertainment by magician Maxwell Blade and juggler Justin Chastan and music by Jacob Flores and Laura Lee Williard.

The lawn held plenty of activities for children, including a bounce house, face painting, hula hoops and educational exhibits by park staff. Hamburgers and hot dogs, grilled by local restaurant owners and staff, were on the menu along with snow cones and cotton candy.

Hot Springs Bathhouse Dinner Theatre was the presenting sponsor. Proceeds from the picnic will go toward the restoration of the Maurice Bathhouse.
