Girl, 6, injured in I-30 crash dies days later at Little Rock hospital

A 6-year-old girl who was injured in a wreck last week on Interstate 30 in Texas has died from her injuries.

The girl, whose name wasn't released, died at Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock, according to information from the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Two adults and several children were injured in the one-vehicle accident Thursday on I-30 near mile-marker 196 west of New Boston, said Sgt. Sylvia Jennings, spokeswoman for the Texas agency.

A preliminary investigation indicated that a 2009 Infiniti driven by Lavaughn Tyrone Baker, 33, of Frisco, Texas, was traveling west when it exited the roadway to the right and rolled several times, Jennings said.

Baker and two boys, ages 3 and 7, received non-incapacitating injuries. They were taken to Wadley Regional Medical Center in Texarkana for treatment.

Jenna Morales, 31, of Frisco and three girls, ages 4, 6 and 7, were initially taken to CHRISTUS St. Michael Health System in Texarkana. None of the other injuries were life-threatening.

The accident remains under investigation.
