A North Little Rock woman said she did not know someone had stabbed her until she "saw blood squirting" from her chest, according to a police report.

Pulaski County deputies responded to a report of a stabbing at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences emergency room and found Emma Franco, who had a stab wound in her chest.

Franco said she and Melissa Gail Davis, 41, were arguing over a "joint" when Davis pushed her and she felt a sharp pain, deputies reported.

Davis, later arrested on a warrant of felony first-degree battery, told officers that she had the knife and that she had taken it from Franco, according to the report. Davis said she could have stabbed Franco accidentally but that it was dark and she could not tell, according to the report.

Davis was in the Pulaski County jail with no bail set as of Tuesday evening.
