Police are searching for a person who they say burglarized an Arkansas church last week, taking the church’s green van and a debit card.

Malvern Police Department Assistant Chief Jim Bailey said the van was taken from New Beginnings Baptist Church at 3603 Oliver Lancaster Blvd. on July 11 between 7 and 9 p.m. A debit card was stolen and a safe was broken into after the church’s Wednesday night service, Bailey said. The van was recovered in Jefferson County, police said.

The church wrote on Facebook that money had been taken from a vending machine and the building’s windows and doors were damaged in the break-in.

Malvern police distributed video stills of a suspect taken at a gas station in Little Rock, where the stolen debit card was used a few hours after the robbery, around 3 a.m. on July 12. In the images, the white male can be seen wearing a hat, blue shirt and jeans.

Police said the suspect may be driving a cream-colored truck.
