A pair of reporters at Little Rock's KUAR Public Radio are leaving for other pursuits, officials announced on Friday.

Jacob Kauffman, who has been with the station since 2013, has accepted a position as coordinated campaign communications director with the Democratic Party of Arkansas. In a statement, he called working for the public radio station at UALR an "immense privilege."

Sarah Whites-Koditschek, meanwhile, is leaving for an investigative reporting fellowship with Wisconsin Watch. Whites-Koditschek worked as a reporter and Morning Edition host from 2014 to 2016 before becoming a reporter with Arkansas Public Media, a regional journalism collaboration with partners including KUAR.

“I consider it an honor to have been part of the adventure of launching Arkansas Public Media," she said in a statement. "Ultimately, the best thing about my role has been the opportunity to engage with so many Arkansans. I will certainly carry those connections with me.”

The station plans to fill both positions.
