An opening reception for the Arkansas League of Artists Show was held July 13 at Matt McLeod Fine Art Gallery.

More than 40 works are on display in the annual show by art league members. First-, second- and third-place prizes were awarded in five categories: abstract/modern, animal wildlife, portrait/figure, floral/still life and city/landscape. Ed Noble was awarded best of show for his landscape Sunrise Over the Tetons. Matthew Lopas, an art professor at Hendrix College, served as the judge.

The Arkansas League of Artists are visual artists and enthusiasts who promote the arts and arts education in Arkansas and provide opportunities for artists to exhibit their work. The show at McLeod's gallery will be on display through Aug. 17.
