Where I live: Miller Cove neighborhood, Benton
Occupation: Retired from 30 plus years teaching, owner of DiningWithDebbie.net, and administrator and food editor for Arkansas Women Bloggers. I also conduct a cooking segment on THV This Morning on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month.
My favorite space is: I spend most of my time in the kitchen cooking or writing. If I'm not in the kitchen, you can usually find me on the porch overlooking our garden space.
We enjoy most of our late spring through fall meals outside on the wraparound porch. There's usually a nice breeze and it's wooded and peaceful.
Why? For me, cooking is a relaxing, creative activity. If I'm not actually cooking, I'm still thinking about food.
Last year, we had two long raised garden beds built. Our little garden space has been bountiful and we enjoy incorporating the harvest into our menus.
If I could make one change to improve this space, I would: We are in the process of renovating the kitchen. After 22 years in this location and hundreds of meals, it is time to update. All cabinets are being replaced, the pantry is being redesigned, installing new tiled backsplash and granite countertops. I'm also getting a new professional level 36-inch duel-fuel range/cooktop. We love our neighbors and the neighborhood and look forward to the renovation and living here.
