2 Arkansas men ID'd as victims in fatal shootings reported 2 hours apart in same city

TUESDAY UPDATE:

Authorities have identified the second person who was killed by gunfire in Pine Bluff in a span of about two hours Sunday night and Monday morning.

The agency said in a statement that Travis Scales, 32, of Pine Bluff was pronounced dead in a home after officers responded about 12:45 a.m. Monday to a shooting in the 5100 block of West 6th Avenue.

About two hours earlier, officers went to the intersection of Camden Road and Union Avenue, where they found 27-year-old Antonio Urquhart suffering from gunshot wounds inside a vehicle that had hit a pole. A police spokesman said it wasn't clear if Urquhart lived in Little Rock or Pine Bluff.

No arrests have been made in either killing. Police said appear the shootings appear to be unrelated.

EARLIER:

Two people died in shootings reported about two hours apart late Sunday and early Monday, but authorities say they don't think the crimes are connected.

The Pine Bluff Police Department said officers were first called about 10:45 p.m. Sunday to Camden Road and Union Avenue, where they found Antonio Urquhart suffering from gunshot wounds inside a vehicle that had hit a pole. Urquhart, whose age wasn't released, was pronounced dead at the scene.

About two hours later, officers responded to a shooting in the 5100 block of west 6th Avenue. Authorities found the second victim inside a home. His name has not been released pending notification of family members.

Police said they don't yet have any information on the suspects or possible motives. A spokesman said in a statement that there "doesn't seem to be a connection" between the two killings.

Authorities said the investigation is ongoing.
