Area competitors to vie for title of Outstanding Teen

— Several young women with ties to the Tri-Lakes Edition coverage area will compete in the annual Miss Arkansas’ Outstanding Teen Pageant today through Friday. The pageant will take place in conjunction with the Miss Arkansas Pageant at Robinson Center Performance Hall in Little Rock.

Pageant preliminaries will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday. The Miss Arkansas’ Outstanding Teen finals will be at 7 p.m. Friday.

Local contestants include the following:

• Miss Greater Hot Springs Outstanding Teen — Emilee Webb of Poyen, the daughter of Mandy and Thomas Ketchersid and Jamie and Carly Webb — will perform a tap dance to “Soul Man” for her talent. Her platform is Ready Readers.

A student at Poyen High School, she will compete in private interview today, evening wear and onstage question Tuesday, artistic expression in talent on Wednesday, and lifestyle and fitness on Thursday.

• Miss South Central Arkansas Outstanding Teen — Kendall Webb of Hot Springs, the daughter of Dr. John and Michele Webb — will present a musical theater vocal performance of “Never Enough.” Her platform is Alzheimer’s Awareness: It All Starts With Me.”

A student at Lakeside High School, she will compete in private interview today, artistic expression in talent on Tuesday, lifestyle and fitness on Wednesday, and evening wear and onstage question on Thursday.

• Miss Southwest Arkansas Outstanding Teen — Caroline Derby of Arkadelphia, the daughter of Jay and Susan Derby — will present a clogging routine to “Perm” for her talent. Her platform is Just Dance!: Moving Toward a Healthy Lifestyle.

A student at Arkadelphia High School, she will compete in private interview today, artistic expression in talent on Tuesday, lifestyle and fitness on Wednesday, and evening wear and onstage question on Thursday.
