Contestants to compete in Miss Arkansas Pageant

— The Miss Arkansas and Miss Arkansas’ Outstanding Teen pageants will once again be held during the same week. The pageants will take place today through Saturday at Robinson Center Performance Hall in Little Rock.

Preliminaries for both pageants will begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday. Miss Arkansas’ Outstanding Teen finals will be at 7 p.m. Friday, and the Miss Arkansas finals at 7 p.m. Saturday. Doors will open at 6 each night.

Preliminary awards will be made in artistic expression (talent), lifestyle and fitness (swimsuit), and presence and poise (evening gown).

Several young women with ties to the Tri-Lakes Edition coverage area will compete in the annual Miss Arkansas Pageant:

• Miss Arkansas Delta — Kenzie Williams of Benton, the 21-year-old daughter of Jacqueline Williams and Gary Maroun — will present a contemporary jazz dance to “Hit Me With a Hot Note” for her talent. Her platform is HOPE — Hunger Oppresses People Every day.

A junior strategic communication major at Arkansas State University, she will compete in interview today, evening gown and onstage question on Tuesday, talent on Wednesday and swimsuit on Thursday.

• Miss Arkansas Valley — Mady Rottinghaus of Hot Springs, the 19-year-old daughter of Michael and Amber Rottinghaus — will present a piano selection, “Raging Storm,” for her talent. Her platform is Appreciating Cultural Diversity.

A sophomore biology/chemistry major at Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, she will compete in interview today, talent on Tuesday, swimsuit on Wednesday, and evening gown and onstage question on Thursday.

• Miss Greater Hot Springs — Tiffany Lee of Benton, the 21-year-old daughter of Tony Lee and Kelly Lee — will present a tap dance to “A Little Party” for her talent. Her platform in Stay Hydrated, Stay Healthy.

A senior mass communications major at OBU, she will compete in interview on Monday, swimsuit on Tuesday, evening gown and onstage question on Wednesday, and talent on Thursday.

• Miss Greater Little Rock — Jessica Miller of Bryant, the 19-year-old daughter of Scott and Dodi Miller— will present a tap dance to “Pump It” for her talent. Her platform is SAVE: Suicide Awareness Voices of Education.

A sophomore social-work major at Arkansas State University, she will compete in interview today, talent on Tuesday, swimsuit on Wednesday, and evening gown and onstage question on Thursday.

• Miss Henderson State University — Jeana Lovett, of Waldron, the 20-year-daughter of Michelle and Josh Lovett — will present a flute performance of “Flight of the Bumblebee” for her talent. Her platform is Seconds Save Lives.

A junior pre-medicine/biology major at Henderson in Arkadelphia, she will compete in interview today, talent on Tuesday, swimsuit on Wednesday, and evening gown and onstage question on Thursday.

• Miss Ouachita Baptist University — Emma Pitts of Clarksville, the 20-year-old daughter of Jeremy Pitts and Misty Rebecca Scroggs Pitts — will present a vocal rendition of “Gimme Gimme” for her talent. Her platform is Inspiring Creativity Through Arts Education.

A junior music education major at OBU, she will compete in interview on Monday, swimsuit on Tuesday, evening gown and onstage question on Wednesday, and talent on Thursday.

• Miss Southeast Arkansas — Cameron Willis of Sheridan, the 21-year-old daughter of Randy Willis and Diana Willis — will present a vocal rendition of “Never Enough” for her talent. Her platform is Table Talk: Breaking the Silence of Eating Disorders.

A senior biology pre-medicine major in the Norbert O. Schedler Honors College at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, she will compete in interview today, talent on Tuesday, swimsuit on Wednesday, and evening gown and onstage question on Thursday.

• Miss Southwest Arkansas — Julie Williams of Arkadelphia, the 20-year-old daughter of the Rev. Charlie and Amy Williams — will present a piano performance, “My Tribute,” for her talent. Her platform is Bridging the Gap Between the Free and the Fighter.

A senior political science and mass-communications major at OBU, she will compete in interview today, evening gown and onstage question on Tuesday, talent on Wednesday and swimsuit on Thursday.

• Miss Texarkana Twin Rivers — Kyla Soden of Cabot, the 20-year-old daughter of Mike and Donya Soden — will present an acro-lyrical routine to “I Was Here” for her talent. Her platform is Empowering Hearts: I Can, I Will.

A junior pre-medicine/ biology major at OBU, she will compete in interview on Monday, swimsuit on Tuesday, evening gown and onstage question on Wednesday, and talent on Thursday.

• Miss White River — Gracie Stover of Little Rock, the 20-year-old daughter of Mike and Laura Stover — will present a tap dance to “Michael Jackson: The Greatest Showman” for her talent. Her platform is Survive: Don’t Text and Drive.

A junior mass communications/pre-pharmacy major at OBU, she will compete in interview today, evening gown and onstage question on Tuesday, talent on Wednesday and swimsuit on Thursday.

KATV Channel 7 in Little Rock has partnered with KAIT Channel 8 in Jonesboro and KFSM Channel 5 in Fort Smith to simulcast the Miss Arkansas Pageant’s final competition at 7 p.m. Saturday.
