23-year-old injured in drive-by shooting in Little Rock, police say

A 23-year-old man was shot while walking on a Little Rock road Friday night, authorities said.

Officers responded to the 5800 block of Butler Road shortly before 8:30 p.m. after a caller reported hearing four to six shots. There, police found Robert Edwards of Little Rock, who said he had been shot while walking south on the street.

According to a report, Edwards said the shooter was in a gray SUV and fired five to six rounds but that he didn't see anything because the vehicle came up from behind him.

The 23-year-old reportedly had two gunshot wounds in his legs and was taken to UAMS Medical Center for treatment.

An officer noted that six shell casings were found at the intersection of Butler Road and Applegate Court.

No suspects were named and no arrests had been made at the time of the report.
