A Pine Bluff man was ordered to serve two years in prison Monday after pleading guilty to driving while intoxicated, his fourth such conviction, the Hot Springs Sentinel-Record reported.

Daniel Wayne Qualls, 35, pleaded guilty to the felony count in Garland County Circuit Court after being arrested in Hot Springs on Oct. 31, 2017.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed in the case, the Arkansas State Police trooper who made the traffic stop reported Qualls admitted to drinking vodka.

Qualls then failed three field sobriety tests and later registered a 0.10 percent blood-alcohol level, which is over the legal limit for driving of 0.08 percent.

Criminal history records show Qualls was previously convicted of DWI on Dec. 29, 2013, in Pinellas County, Fla.; on April 25, 2015, in Jefferson County; and on Aug. 14, 2015, in Jefferson County.

Qualls was sentenced to six years in prison with four of the years suspended. He also must pay a $2,000 fine and $340 in court costs.
