Robbed while trying to buy stereo equipment near Little Rock airport, men tell police

Two men told police they were robbed Monday afternoon while meeting with someone to buy stereo equipment near Little Rock’s airport.

The robbery happened around 2:15 p.m. in the 2600 block of East Roosevelt Road, which is just west of Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport, according to a report from the city’s Police Department.

Two Benton residents — a 35-year-old and a 33-year-old — told officers they had traveled to the address to meet with someone about buying car stereo equipment.

While there, the robber asked one of the victims if he had any money before displaying a black semi-automatic handgun and taking $340 in cash from the men.

The robber then fled east on Roosevelt Road toward Interstate 440 in a gold vehicle described as “possibly a Ford sedan,” according to the report.

One victim said he had initially met with the would-be seller around 4 p.m. May 28 at the Shell gas station at 700 E. Roosevelt Road.

No suspects were named, and no arrests had been made at the time of the report.
