Musical Murders

Hollywood elites, with a slasher-murderer possibly among them, plan their new production at the mansion of a wealthy arts patron in upstate New York during the worst blizzard in years in The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940 by John Bishop, which the Royal Players are staging, 7 p.m. today-Saturday and June 21-23 and 2 p.m. Sunday and June 24 at the Royal Theater, 111 S. Musical Scoundrels

Two con artists and their "victim" cavort musically on the French Riviera in the musical Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (music and lyrics by David Yazbek, book by Jeffrey Lane based on the 1988 film of the same name) 8 p.m. Friday and July 6; 7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 21-23 and 28-30 and July 5 and 7; and 2:30 p.m. Sunday, June 24 and July 1 and 8 at the Weekend Theater, 1001 W. 'Surf the Bay'

Fairfield Bay's "Surf the Bay" WaterSport and Music Festival on Greers Ferry Lake, 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday at the Fairfield Bay Marina, 4350 S. Arkansas 330, Fairfield Bay, showcases adventure sports, including wakesurfing, flyboarding (soaring above the lake surface in a water-powered jet pack), kayaking and paddleboarding, plus water slides. The Zac Dunlap Band performs, 5-7 p.m. Festival admission is free; there's a charge for some venues and activities, including the Kid Zone ($5). Arrive by land or by water.
