Two Arkansas women were killed in a collision Wednesday morning after their vehicle traveled into the path of a tractor-trailer, authorities said.
The crash happened about 11 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. 62 and Arkansas 135 in Corning, according to an Arkansas State Police report.
Police said Kaytlyn Herndon, 21, of Jonesboro and Bonnie Taylor, 19, of Brookland were traveling north on Arkansas 135 in a 2012 Honda. Herndon made a left-hand turn onto U.S. 62 and drove into the path of the eastbound tractor-trailer, the report said.
Both women died at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
Conditions were described as clear and dry at the time of the accident, according to the report.
At least 193 people have died in traffic crashes on Arkansas roads so far this year, according to preliminary figures.
