A Jeep that rolled out of its parked position caused more than $1,000 in damage when it collided with a Little Rock traffic safety vehicle Tuesday, according to a crash report.

Authorities said a traffic safety officer arrived shortly before 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of Hermitage and South Shackleford roads in response to a previous wreck involving the 2016 Jeep Wrangler.

The Jeep was stopped in the middle of the intersection, and the officer parked her car perpendicularly to block traffic from entering the scene, the report states.

Police wrote that while the officer was investigating, the unoccupied Jeep began to roll and traveled 18 feet until it hit the front passenger door of the officer's 2018 Ford Fusion.

Authorities said they think the Jeep's transmission was not completely placed in park, although they don't know why the vehicle started rolling.
