Arkansas ace Blaine Knight was named to the All-America first team by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association on Wednesday.

Knight was one of seven pitchers named to the team, along with fellow SEC pitchers Casey Mize of Auburn and Brady Singer of Florida.

Knight, a third-round pick by the Baltimore Orioles in the MLB Draft last week, will take a 12-0 record and 2.84 ERA into the College World Series. He is expected to start the Razorbacks' opener against Texas at 1 p.m. Sunday at TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha, Neb.

A junior from Bryant, Knight previously was selected as second-team All-America by Baseball America and third team by Collegiate Baseball. He is the first University of Arkansas, Fayetteville first-team All-America pick since outfielder Andrew Benintendi in 2015 and the 23rd overall.

Knight, Mize and Singer were joined by pitchers Logan Gilbert of Stetson, Luke Heimlich of Oregon State, Nick Sandlin of Southern Miss and Andre Pallante of California-Irvine on the first team.
