Tornado warning issued for part of state allowed to expire

5:25 P.M.:

The National Weather Service will allow the tornado warning issued for part of the state to expire at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

However, a severe thunderstorm warning remains in effect for portions of Fulton and Sharp counties until 5:45 p.m.. Large hail and damaging winds remain a threat, the agency said.

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado warning for part of the state.

The warning covers eastern Fulton County in north-central Arkansas until 5:30 p.m. A storm capable of producing a twister was located 7 miles northwest of Cherokee Village shortly after 5 p.m.
