Little Rock police: Robber holds up Hillcrest convenience store while pregnant woman working

A robber stole cash from a gas station Thursday night in Hillcrest while a pregnant woman was working, according to a Little Rock Police Department report.

Authorities said they found the 24-year-old employee in shock and struggling to breathe when they arrived at the Exxon on 101 N. Van Buren St. around 9:30 p.m.

The woman told officers she was behind the counter when a stranger entered. He yelled "all the money in the register" and had his hand under his shirt, which appeared to show the outline of a gun, according to the report.

Police wrote that a second employee, who was taking out the trash, saw the robber through a window and ran back into the building.

At that time, he ordered the women to give him the cash from the register, the report states.

The robber ran north on Van Buren toward Kavanaugh Boulevard, the 22-year-old worker said.

No suspect had been named, and no arrest had been made at the time of the report.
