Don't doubt seventh son of a 7th son

Mystic Marcus, a micro pig from England, has picked Belgium, Argentina, Nigeria and Uruguay to reach the final four of the World Cup. Marcus, according to his owner Juliette Stevens, picked Germany to win the 2014 World Cup, the Brexit referendum and Donald Trump to win the 2016 election.

A pig with "special powers" has chosen the four nations that will reach the World Cup semi-finals -- and England is not one of them.

Mystic Marcus, a micro pig from England, chose Belgium, Argentina, Nigeria and Uruguay.

He did it by eating apples marked with the flags of all the other teams.

He correctly predicted the outcome of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, the Brexit referendum and Donald Trump's election, said owner Juliette Stevens.

So far his World Cup predictions appear to be on the nose -- or snout -- as Uruguay brought home the bacon with a dramatic victory over Egypt.

The pig breeder said: "Marcus is the seventh child of a seventh child and apparently they're gifted with special powers, so maybe that's where it comes from."

Running shoes

A signed pair of running shoes worn by eight-time Olympic gold medalist Usain Bolt has been stolen from an address in Derbyshire, England.

The white, blue and red spikes were used by the Jamaican great in a 100-meter heat at the 2012 Games, Derbyshire police said.

"The spikes are part of an extensive collection that I have built up over the last 10 years," the victim said. "There are only four or five pairs of spikes that have been signed from the London 2012 Olympics, (and) they are absolutely irreplaceable."

The victim did not want to be named.

A 35-year-old man has been charged in the theft. The shoes have yet to be recovered.

Bolt, 31, who retired after the 2017 world championships in London, won the 100, 200 and 4x100 relay titles at the 2008, 2012 and 2016 Olympics, although he later lost the 2008 relay gold after a teammate was disqualified for doping.

Cut loose

Brian Davis is out in Oklahoma City two months after making a controversial comment about superstar Russell Westbrook.

The Thunder announced in Friday that Davis, their longtime play-by-play announcer, will not have his contract renewed for the 2018-2019 season, per Royce Young of ESPN.

Davis, who was the television voice of the Thunder for the last eight seasons and had been hosting telecasts for the team since they were the Seattle SuperSonics, made the questionable remark about Westbrook in April. During a game against the Memphis Grizzlies, Davis reacted to Westbrook's strong play by saying he was "out of his cotton-picking mind."

Davis would later apologize for the comment and was suspended by the team for one game as a result. Westbrook also spoke out against what Davis said.
