Stapleton stops in Rogers; LR hosts Jazz Celebration

Grammy Award-winning country singer/songwriter Chris Stapleton, on his "All American Road Show" tour with guests Marty Stuart and Brent Cobb, performs at 7 p.m. Friday at the Walmart AMP, 5079 W. Northgate Road, Rogers, part of the amphitheater's 2018 Cox Concert Series.

Jazz Celebration

The Arkansas Jazz Heritage Foundation will hold its Jazz Celebration, including the Arkansas Jazz Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, 8-11 p.m. Monday in the ballroom of the Capital Hotel, 111 W. Markham St., Little Rock.

Following the installation of the 2018 inductees -- Bob Boyd, Brian Brown, Nan Maureen Renaud, George Ryan, Snub Mosley, Red Holloway, Rose Marie McCoy and Henry Shead -- will be performances by guest artists with a combo including 2014 Hall of Fame inductee Joe Vick (upright bass), Julia Buckingham (keyboards), Sim Flora (trombone, flute) and Bryan Withers (drums). Some of the guest artists have been or will be inducted as well.

Young Hood-lums

The Fable Factory will audition children entering grades 4-12 for 2018-19, including 2018 graduating seniors, for a musical version of Robin Hood, 3 p.m. July 15 in the Riceland Auditorium, Grand Prairie Center, 2807 U.S. 165 South, Stuttgart. The show will be part of the center's fourth Summer Youth Theater Workshop. Director D.L. Webb and coordinator Ellen Lee Boone will select children for solo and group participation. Lennox Industries of Stuttgart, through a $13,000 contribution to the PCCUA Stuttgart Foundation, is picking up the production costs; there will be no fee to participate. Arts in Education

July 6 is the deadline for Arkansas performers, writers and visual artists to apply to join the Arts Council's statewide Arts in Education roster. The program pairs professional artists with schools and nonprofit community organizations to demonstrate their art forms to students and teachers and share their ideas, creativity and talents. Artist INC

July 9 is the deadline to apply for the Argenta Arts Foundation's 2018 Artist INC Live in Argenta seminar, one-night a week for eight-weeks starting Sept. 11 at the Arkansas Regional Innovation Hub, 204 E. Fourth St., North Little Rock. The arts entrepreneurship program is in partnership with the University of Missouri-Kansas City Innovation Center and the Mid-America Arts Alliance. A panel of community arts leaders and artists will select participants through a competitive application process based on the quality of artistic work, with consideration given for career goals and overall readiness for the program.
