Arkansas teen dies after being ejected from Audi in crash on state highway

A 19-year-old from Rison died early Sunday hours after he was ejected from an Audi A6 in a crash on a state highway, authorities said.

Justin Dakota Wright was driving the 1999 Audi west on Arkansas 114 in Rison when the car veered off the right shoulder in a curve, according to an Arkansas State Police report. It happened about 10 p.m.

Wright "overcorrected after leaving the roadway and was never able to regain control," the report said, noting the Audi spun, hit a tree, and overturned multiple times.

Wright was thrown from the vehicle at one point, police said. He was airlifted to CHI St. Vincent in Little Rock, where he was pronounced dead shortly after 1 a.m.

Conditions at the time of the single-vehicle wreck were said to be clear and dry.

At least 209 people have died in traffic crashes in Arkansas so far this year, according to preliminary figures.
