Two people face endangerment charges after two children under the age of 7 were left inside a hot car for nearly an hour at a Little Rock Walmart, police said.

Tameisha Williams-Shaw, 26, of Mabelvale and Aaron Robinson, 26, of Little Rock were each arrested shortly before 8:10 p.m. Saturday on two counts of first-degree endangering the welfare of a minor, records show.

Williams-Shaw and Robinson left the children — ages 3 and 6 — inside a car for at least 45 minutes as they shopped inside the 2700 S. Shackleford Road location, according to arrest reports.

Police said Robinson is the father of both children while Williams-Shaw is the 3-year-old's mother.

The car was not running, its windows were rolled up, and the sunroof was open, authorities said.

Witnesses alerted police after hearing the children screaming, according to the reports. Robinson reportedly told officers that the witnesses "should have gotten the kids out of the car."

Officers noted that the outside temperature at the time was 89 degrees with a heat index value of 94 degrees. The two children were red-faced and sweaty, police said.

Robinson and Williams-Shaw were no longer listed on the Pulaski County jail's online inmate roster as of Monday afternoon. They each have court appearances set for June 26.
