Arkansas index rises 1.05, ends at 445.07

The Arkansas Index, a price-weighted index that tracks the largest public companies based in the state, rose 1.05 to 445.07 Monday.

Volume for the index was 19 million shares.

"Global stocks moved lower on Monday over continuing concerns over the trade dispute between the United States and China combined with rising oil prices after news that an OPEC production increase would be smaller than expected," said Chris Harkins, managing director with Raymond James & Associates in Little Rock.

The index was developed by Bloomberg News and the Democrat-Gazette with a base value of 100 as of Dec. 30, 1997.
