Man wanted in northeast Arkansas on run for days, authorities say; 32-year-old believed to have gun

Authorities said they are looking for a man who has been on the run since Sunday in Lawrence County.

Sgt. Jamie White said 32-year-old Jerrett Stanford was last seen Monday morning coming out of the woods near Ravenden. A resident told deputies that Stanford asked for a ride and then ran back into the woods when the man refused.

Police dogs tracked Stanford into the afternoon before losing the scent, according to the sheriff's office.

Stanford is on the run after a deputy found him Sunday with a stolen car in the parking lot of a gas station in Imboden, White said.

He is believed to have a gun, and authorities in Lawrence and Sharp counties are encouraging residents to stay inside with the doors locked until he has been captured.

White said Stanford is 5 feet, 10 inches and weights about 200 pounds. He was wearing a pink-and-white striped shirt when he fled, but deputies think he may be shirtless after they found clothes in the woods.
