A Sherwood man was charged on June 14 with felony arson after Sherwood police say he set two fires in his home on Feb. 2.

Arrested was Russell Fields, 42, of 1200 Wildwood Ave.

Sherwood Police Department Sgt. John Murphy said flames in the wood-frame house on Wildwood Avenue originated in two different rooms.

Russell was the only person in the house at the time and called 911 to report the blaze about 7 p.m., Murphy said.

Murphy said officers considered the fire "suspicious" after discovering that both blazes — one in a bedroom and one in the garage of the one-story house — began in the center of the rooms and had no apparent ignition source.
