Brews benefit trails

Craft beer connoisseurs and brew beginners alike will have the opportunity to sample some 400 craft beers at the third annual Ales for Trails Craft Beer Festival to benefit Park Partners of Fort Smith and the Fort Smith trail system.

The foamy festival July 7 at Harry E. Kelley Park will offer beers provided by Arkansas Craft Distributors, Belle Point Beverages, Burford Distributing and Central Moon Distributors.

What: Craft beers, Baggo tournament, beer fun run, live music, food

When: 5:30-10 p.m. July 7

Where: Harry E. Kelley Park in Fort Smith

The hoppin' happening will include a beer fun run, PoundFit with Ginger, outdoor/active lifestyle vendors, Baggo tournament and live music by Allison Grace and Eve 6.

"We started this festival off on a great note, and we want to build on that every year to create a successful fundraiser and a unique beer tasting experience," Griffin Hanna, festival director, said in a press release. "Fort Smith is in need of more trail systems, and we hope to continue the construction of the trails with this festival."

Park Partners is a nonprofit organization that is "devoted to investing in our future through the development of the city of Fort Smith's Parks and Recreation Department facilities."
