The father of a toddler killed in a road-rage shooting in 2016 is wanted by Little Rock police on a capital murder charge in a separate case.
The department said that Antwoin King Sr. told cold case investigators Wednesday that he would surrender to police but did not.
King is accused in the death of 38-year-old Joseph McCardell, who was shot and killed in his home on West 18th Street in January 2013. He was reportedly found by his daughter, who was 15 at the time.
It was not immediately clear how police developed King as a suspect. There were no signs of forced entry into the home and it was unclear if there was a struggle inside the residence, authorities said.
Police said King is the father of 3-year-old Acen Ahmeer King, who was hit by a single bullet while riding in the back seat of his grandmother's car at the intersection of Warren and Geyer Springs.
Gary Eugene Holmes, 34, is charged with first-degree murder and committing a terroristic act over accusations he fired the gunshot that killed the toddler about two weeks before Christmas 2016.
Holmes, who was on probation for a domestic battering conviction at the time, told police he had accidentally fired a gun at a car at the intersection.
At least one witness who was with Holmes at the time of the shooting told police Holmes fired at the car because he was mad at the driver for following him too closely. Holmes is scheduled to stand trial on Aug. 21.
Antwoin King is reportedly considered armed and dangerous. He is known to stay with his grandmother at a Tatum Street address, police said. He stands about 5 feet 10 inches and weighs about 200 pounds, according to a flier distributed by the Police Department.
