Sadly, this is not new

The Trump administration's practice of separating migrant children from their parents in an effort to deter unauthorized border crossing has stirred an uproar. Aghast and enraged, opponents--ranging from chief executives to members of the clergy to average Americans--have called this practice and the detention of children cruel and illegal.

These editors have been trying for days to make this debacle seem normal. They also never fail to point,"but what about Obama." They don't get it. No matter who is doing it, it is wrong. And yes, there was outrage when Obama did it, and when Bush did it.

Most American parents abandon their children five days a week. It is called childcare.

Hey BoudinMan - Do you live under a rock? Children are separated from their parents by the government every day in America as standard operating procedure within our criminal justice system. What would be wrong would be to NOT separate these minors from the adults accompanying until a wellness check can be performed on the minors. On some level it's no different than separating kids from adults who leave the kids in a vehicle on a 100 degree day.

Pack@ss - Wow. That’s low even for you - and that’s saying something. Someone who brings their child/children across the border in hopes of a better life is not in any way equivalent to someone who leaves a child in a hot car to roast to death.

They didn’t have to be migrant children, have you seen the cemeteries at the residential schools the Native children were sent to when they were taken from family and tribe?

Hey Oboxer - From the beginning of this latest "crisis" the selective outrage as been laughable considering libs support Roe v Wade and the pre-meditated killing of literally tens of thousands of unborn humans each and every year. Their compassion for illegal alien "children" is absurdly hollow and the height of hypocrisy.
.
How DoubleBlind - How do you know the illegal alien adults are bringing "THEIR" children? There are literally hundreds of documented instances where the kids were unaccompanied, accompanied by an adult that's NOT a parent, and brought across the border to be a child prostitute. Wouldn't you agree someone bringing a 12 year old across the border for prostitution is at least as bad as leaving them in a hot car? As responsible governance, SHOULD WE NOT separate these kids to make sure they aren't being used for nefarious purposes?
