Style: 'Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom' review

It the time of year when impossible-to-ignore movies pop up regularly in the cineplexes. This week we have the dinosaur movie Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, the latest installment in a franchise that started 25 years ago. So our Piers Marchant did not ignore it.

Piers has also been busy filling in the gaps in his education by watching classic and important movies he’s missed over the years — he reports on six of these in his limited run series “30 x 30.” And Dan Lybarger contributes an interview with Bart Layton, the director of American Animals, a heist film with elements of documentary that also opens Friday. (You can hear Dan’s entire conversation with Layton on our blood, dirt & angels blog.) And Philip Martin reviews Animals and the latest film version of Anton Chekov’s The Seagull. Plus we’ve got Karen Martin on the latest in home video.

All in the Style section in Friday’s Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.
