Po'boy, beignet cafe set for downtown Little Rock building

A New Orleans-style cafe and sandwich shop featuring po'boys, burgers and fried foods as well as coffee and beignets is planned for downtown Little Rock.

The Capitol Zoning District Commission issued a certificate of appropriateness Friday for the as-yet-unnamed restaurant at 2415 S. Broadway, which is in the same building as a Dollar General store and a Sims Bar-B-Que.

The certificate attached several conditions for the restaurant, which also will have live music. Among the conditions: The closing hours are 9 p.m. on weekdays and 10 p.m. on weekends, no disc jockey or loud music is allowed, and the alcoholic beverages are limited to beer, wine and daiquiris.

The applicant was listed as Kymberly Beard for Ted Bennet and Vaughan-Whitmore Fresh'n Up Foods LLC of DeWitt.
