HOT SPRINGS -- A former Hot Springs Village man, arrested in March in Little Rock in the reported rape of an 11-year-old girl who was left in his care, was arrested Tuesday on another rape charge based on accusations that he molested the same girl at his previous home in the village.

Donald Glynn Caple, 67, was charged with rape, a felony punishable by up to life in prison, and was later released on $100,000 bond. He is scheduled for a July 3 arraignment hearing in Garland County Circuit Court.

Prosecutors filed a motion Tuesday seeking a gag order to limit pretrial publicity in the case.

Caple was arrested March 20 in Little Rock and was released on $50,000 bond March 30. He is set to stand trial Nov. 14 in Pulaski County Circuit Court.

According to a probable cause affidavit in Tuesday's arrest, Little Rock police were contacted March 1 by the mother of an 11-year-old girl who said her daughter had been sexually assaulted. During the course of their investigation, Little Rock detectives discovered that the sexual assaults also had occurred at Caple's former residence in Hot Springs Village, the affidavit said.

Little Rock police contacted Hot Springs Village police detective Brad Whiley and provided him with the case file, including audio and video interviews with the girl.

The girl said she was molested by Caple in Hot Springs Village, the affidavit said. She told police that Caple would play "cartoon porn" and adult porn on his laptop while they were together and that he touched her private areas and had her touch his, the affidavit said.

The incidents began when she was 4 years old and continued until she was 8, according to the affidavit. Over a period of time, Caple began to advance the sexual acts and eventually raped her, according to the affidavit.

The girl said the sexual abuse occurred every time she and Caple were alone together at his residence, the affidavit says. Caple later sold his residence in Hot Springs Village and moved to Little Rock.

Caple was interviewed by police and admitted to committing the acts the girl described, the affidavit said. He stated that he did not rape the girl because he never forced her to participate in the acts, the document said. He told police that she always consented to participating and that he committed the acts "because he wanted to connect emotionally" with her, the affidavit says.
