A Little Rock man whose toddler was killed in a road-rage shooting in 2016 surrended to police Monday morning on a capital murder charge in a separate case, authorities said.

Antwoin King Sr. surrendered at 9:30 a.m. with an attorney in Little Rock District Court, Police Department spokesman officer Steve Moore said. The arrest came days after the 31-year-old said he would surrender to investigators but did not.

King is accused in the death of 38-year-old Joseph McCardell, who was shot and killed in his home on West 18th Street in January 2013.

The 31-year-old King was booked at 10:15 a.m. Monday into the Pulaski County jail, where he remains with no bail set, records show.

The nonprofit was created by Little Rock's NBC and Fox affiliates to combat violence and reduce crime. It was launched in February 2017, just months after King's 3-year old son, Acen King, was hit by a bullet while riding in the back seat of his grandmother's car in south Little Rock in December 2016.

Gary Eugene Holmes, 34, is charged with first-degree murder and committing a terroristic act in the child's slaying.
