Harrison man dies in car wreck

A Harrison man was killed early Saturday when the vehicle he was driving left a road and overturned several times, ejecting him, the Arkansas State Police said.

The single-vehicle crash happened around 3:30 a.m. on Arkansas 7 North, about 2 miles north of Arkansas 281 in Harrison, according to a preliminary report.

Rodney Wayne Poor, 32, crossed the highway’s centerline while northbound in a 2004 Dodge, at which point the vehicle traveled off the road, struck a culvert and “overturned several times,” state police said.

Poor was ejected and died of injuries in the crash, according to the report. No one else was reported hurt.

The weather was said to be clear and roads were described as dry at the time.
