North Little Rock woman flees police before crash; 10-month-old injured

A North Little Rock woman fleeing police Saturday crashed into another vehicle, injuring her 10-month-old child and disabling both her vehicle and the one she hit, according to police reports.

North Little Rock police officers attempted to approach Cierra Finley, 21, while answering a call about a disturbance involving firearms, but said she fled in a silver vehicle upon seeing officers, police reports said.

Officers pursued Finley down several streets until she reportedly ran a red light and struck another vehicle.

Finley exited the car with her bleeding 10-month-old in her arms and attempted to flee on foot, but was apprehended by officers, the report said.

The child had a cut in the side of the head, and a search of the car revealed a half-gram of marijuana, according to the report.

Officers charged Finley with flight from an officer, endangering the welfare of a minor and possession of a controlled drug substance schedule I. Finley was in the Pulaski County jail with no bail set as of Sunday evening.
