Little Rock woman accused of stabbing girlfriend with pocketknife during dispute

A woman is accused of hitting her girlfriend with a stick and stabbing her during an argument Tuesday at a home in south Little Rock, authorities said.

Pulaski County sheriff's office deputies responded at 10 p.m. to the residence in the 2300 block of 145th Street, according to an arrest report.

The victim, Dana Brown, told authorities that 31-year-old Anna Leonard had hit her with a stick, then stabbed her in the back with a pocketknife before running out of the house.

A 1-inch cut was visible in the center of Brown's back and still bleeding when deputies arrived, the report noted. She was taken to UAMS Medical Center for treatment.

A dog from the Little Rock Police Department was used to search for Leonard, and she was reportedly found a short time later hiding in some shrubbery.

The 31-year-old deputies that Brown had hit her several times and had her in a "headlock" when she cut her with the knife.

Leonard was arrested and charged with first-degree domestic battery. She remained at the Pulaski County jail Wednesday morning, records show, and no bail had been set.
