Crashes in state fatal to 3 people

At least three people died in crashes in the state Wednesday and Thursday, according to the Arkansas State Police.

A 38-year-old man died in a crash Thursday afternoon after losing control of his motorcycle, state police said.

According to a preliminary report, the crash happened on Arkansas 112 in Tontitown shortly before 12:30 p.m.

Jason Clay Hulse of Siloam Springs was headed south when he tried to pass a vehicle and lost control of his 2016 Victory motorcycle, the report states.

No other injuries were reported, state police said.

A collision between a car and a truck on a state highway Wednesday left two people dead and two children injured, state police said.

Julio Capote of Baytown, Texas, was driving a 1998 Kenworth truck south on Arkansas 21 near Clarksville just before 1 p.m. when his vehicle crossed the centerline, according to a crash report.

The 40-year-old overcorrected, causing the truck to tip and slide into a 2005 Honda that was traveling north, the report said.
